T-10 Cricket Evolves: T-10 Gully cricket A new version

This new shorter and faster form of cricket augurs well for Indian cricket as more and more youngsters will get involved in the game,” Laxman said while releasing the T-10 anthem.
T-10 Gully cricket tournament will feature 40 teams, including five sponsored teams. The top team from each city would vie for the final pay-off in Mumbai in the second week of February next year.
Targeted at 15 to 24-year-olds, who have not yet made the first-class cut, the tournament is all set to roll January 16 with a few batsmen-friendly innovations and absolutely nothing for the bowlers.Eight teams from Surat, Pune, Ludhiana, Thane, Lucknow, Jalandhar, Kanpur and Nashik will vie for a Rs 10 lakh winners’ purse out of a total prize money of Rs 25 lakh. The preliminary stage will see four sponsored teams in each city competing against each other to qualify for the final play-off.The play-off will feature two groups of four teams each with the top-two qualifying for the semi-finals. The winner of group A would meet the runners-up of group B in the first semis while the winner of group B would meet the runners-up of group A in the other semis to be followed by the grand finale.
After the success of the Twenty20 cricket, it’s now a shorter T-10 version that is keeping the celebrities busy. As this getting a great popularity and can give a great opportunity to new player to show up there talent. Such kind of initiative motivates the new players. If we talk in prospect of business then also T-10 Gully cricket will help in generating the huge revenue through advertisement. Hi Ragni,
There are eight cities hosting the event in the first edition.
The participants are required to be resident of these cities to apply.
They should be in the age group of 15-24 years.
The Participants shouldn’t have played first class cricket.
The call for entries would commence on 28th Dec 08 and culminate on 3rd Jan 09.
The Selections would start on 4th Jan and last for three days i.e 4th Jan to 6th Jan 2009 .
The participants would be selected by Gurus who would be aided by a selection committee.
